The Story of the Stars in the Sky Christmas Tree

The Stars in the Sky Christmas Tree is the reason I founded this company. That might sound crazy (and it probably is), but let me explain….

In January of 2016, I was going through a really rough time, as we all have at different points in our lives. A longtime friend realized I probably needed a distraction so she invited me to join her at the Atlanta Gift Mart. My first thought was “Why would I go to that? I don’t really feel like going.” But she convinced me, so we headed to Atlanta! I was walking around the Atlanta show with my friend and her group, and I will admit, I was about as fun as a root canal at this point! I didn’t know what I was doing there, I didn’t know anyone except my friend, and I was wondering “why did I come here?”

Then, we walked into a showroom and I was speechless. I saw a Christmas tree and it took my breath away. I had never seen anything like it. It was by far the most beautiful tree I had ever seen and in that moment, it didn’t matter how upset I was, or how emotionally drained I felt. I just fell in love with this tree and I knew I had to have one in my home.

I said to the people in the showroom “I have to have that tree.” They said “Well Ma’am, that’s fine, but you need to buy a container of them.” Now keep in mind, this is an OCEAN container. One of those huge containers that has to come all the way to the US from a foreign land on a huge barge. That’s a lot of trees!!! So what did I say? I said “I’ll take a container!” The showroom representative said “Okay, do you have a company?” I replied “No, but I will! I’ll make a company! And I’m going to sell that container of trees!” In the meantime, I said to my friend “Put this on your store – I’m going to buy a container of trees!” As you might have guessed, her response was, “You’re going to do what?!” But she did, and I will be forever grateful.

Then, I called Katie who was back home and I told her I bought a container of trees. She said something along the lines of, “You did what?! We don’t even have a website!” And we didn’t – we had no website, no e-commerce capabilities, nothing. We had just been doing our own thing on Facebook for about a year trying to keep everyone entertained until I figured out what my next journey was going to be. And now, because of a beautiful Christmas tree, that new journey became LisaRobertson.com.

I even had them send me samples early so I could put them up at home as soon as possible!!

In 2016, when we offered the trees for the first time, I didn’t know what to expect. I was still a little shocked that I actually bought an ocean container of trees. We crossed our fingers, and hoped you would fall in love with the trees like I did. Luckily, you did, and so many of you have your own Stars in the Sky Christmas Trees!

Now here we are in 2022 (time flies!). I know I say it every year, but once again, it is nothing short of a Christmas miracle that we were able to bring these trees back for you this year. We really did move heaven and earth to be able to bring you the Stars in the Sky Tree that we all know and love. This year, it is available in 6′, 7′, and 9’9” in your choice of a green or flocked tree. I am just never sure what the next year will bring and if we will be able to get it for you again, so if your heart is set on it, I wouldn’t wait.

I know hearing me talk like this about a Christmas tree sounds a little crazy, but it is truly how I felt when I first laid eyes on it, and I still feel the same sense of awe when I see the trees now! It is the most striking, magical, dreamy, amazingly beautiful tree I have ever seen, and I have traveled the world looking for beautiful trees. Nothing has even come close. It looks beautiful even without any ornaments. I have one in my bedroom, one in my living room, one in my dining room, and one in my family room.

If you want a tree that looks absolutely gorgeous whether you put anything on it or not, then this is your tree. If you want a tree that stops everyone in their tracks when they see it in your home, then this is your tree. And if you want a tree that just makes you happy every time you look at it, then this is definitely your tree.
